Her project, "Adapting to Complexity: The Behavioral Dynamics of Circulating Nurses in Cardiovascular Hybrid Operating Rooms," centers on the ever-evolving dynamics within hybrid operating rooms and the crucial role of circulating nurses. Her work at the intersection of healthcare and design demonstrates a passion for improving patient care through innovative design solutions.

Hailing from Bangalore, India, Shilpa holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture, blending her artistic sensibilities with her love for design. Besides her academic pursuits, Shilpa is a professional Carnatic classical musician, and a trained classical dancer reflecting her multifaceted talents and dedication to the arts. With a deep-rooted commitment to gender equality and healthcare accessibility, she actively advocates for the representation of women in design and architecture and strives to bring healthcare closer to underserved communities. Her goal is to enhance healthcare design to create more efficient and comfortable spaces for nurses, staff, and patients, while also making these designs cost-effective. She envisions a world where healthcare environments are both aesthetically pleasing and optimized for care delivery.
