Laurie Waggener, BSRC, RRT, BID, IIDA, CHID

Laurie’s background in clinical leadership, interior design and design research enables her to integrate science and knowledge driven design solutions for multiple service lines. Laurie leads the efforts in the implementation of research informed planning and design through all project architectural phases as well as manages the original research efforts at WHR Architects, Inc.

Laurie serves as a member of the Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI) Health Guidelines Revision Committee and is a founding member of the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers (AAHID) in addition to the Nursing Institute for Healthcare Design (NIHD).   Publications, interviews and chapters are featured in books, trade journals in addition to peer reviewed journals.

As an interior designer, Laurie’s project design awards include: Modern Healthcare Merit of Excellence, Healthcare Symposium User Centered award and an AIA commendation for Healthcare Interiors. 
Before entering the design industry, Laurie served as technical director for respiratory critical care in a 520 bed hospital.
