D. Kirk Hamilton is the former Beale Endowed Professor of Health Facility Design at Texas A&M University, following 30 years as a hospital architect. He is now a Professor Emeritus and a Fellow Emeritus of the American College of Healthcare Architects and American Institute of Architects, and Fellow, American College of Critical Care Medicine.
His Bachelor of Architecture is from the University of Texas at Austin (1970); his Master of Science in Organization Development is from Pepperdine University (2003), and his PhD is in Nursing & Healthcare Innovation from Arizona State University (2017). He is a founding co-editor of the Health Environments Research & Design (HERD) Journal.
