Prior to founding lightstep he held various leadership positions for 10 years at Perkins+Will including; Research Knowledge Manager, Sustainable Design Leader, New York and the firmwide Sustainable Healthcare Leader. In these roles he actively managed the sustainable design and LEED processes on projects in addition to providing strategic leadership for Perkins+Will.
His research experience covers topics as diverse as the business case and material health and toxicity, alternative energy systems and climate change mitigation, often in collaboration with academic institutions and non-profit organizations. He currently teaches graduate level classes in applied design research and sustainability.
