RESEARCH, DESIGN & OUTCOMES | 2025 PDC SUMMIT
Designing to accommodate the needs of individuals experiencing dementia and neurodiversity is relevant throughout the continuum of care.
Vulnerable, marginalized, and geriatric populations piece together treatments and therapies using a combination of ALL healthcare settings. The accompanying non-linear, sporadic and unpredictable patterns of use carry more intense implications and disproportionate negative outcomes.
The design of the environment is, however, a modifiable risk factor and understanding environmental barriers and enablers can facilitate better health and wellness outcomes.
Based upon the review of evaluation tools for memory care settings, recognized experts in the field of environmental gerontology will share design strategies that benefit vulnerable patient populations in all healthcare settings.
