One of the biggest challenges healthcare staff members face is stress. There are myriad factors contributing to this challenge, but at its core, it is caused by the very reason healthcare exists -- to care for people. Every day, staff are dealing with emotional, high-stress and often traumatic situations involving patients and during COVID, it has been more extreme. There are few situations where healthcare workers can walk away, so they must deal with this stress continually in the moment and in the workplace. This is where biophilic design -- increasing connectivity to the natural environment -- can make a significant difference.
This webinar will focus on how we can use the elements of biophilic design to create meaningful work and restorative spaces to support staff in various environments within the healthcare workplace. Biophilic principals and case studies will be shared.
