Project ER One is the federally funded initiative that developed the design concepts, features, and specifications for an all-risks ready emergency care facility. Optimized to be able to provide emergency medical care during acts of terrorism and emerging illness, ER One is built to function fully as a hospital emergency department during daily operations.
The next phase of Project ER One is the building of a national demonstration emergency care center in Washington, D.C. that will be a clinical care resource for the National Capital Region and a demonstration facility for the whole nation.
Completion of the entire $234 million project is planned for 2012. HKS Architects is the architectural/design firm.
