Jeff Mural is an architect at LS3P with 20 years of experience on a variety of projects. His particular expertise is in Behavioral Healthcare, for which he has planned or designed over 1.6 million square feet, for both his prior and current firms, on projects throughout the eastern part of North America.
Jeff Mural’s specific expertise is patient safety in a psychiatric hospital. While working for architecture+, Jeff was instrumental in developing the Patient Safety Standards for the New York State Office of Mental Health, which has been used as a guide for designing both new construction and renovations of psychiatric hospitals across the country. As project manager he personally tested and evaluated over 200 products for safe use in a psychiatric hospital; because of this, he has unique insight on how to design safe, therapeutic, and normative spaces for patients.
