This first of a four-part series is designed to close that knowledge gap and empower architects and designers to develop a basic fluency in healthcare finance, and in subsequent sessions discover direct applications.  We also recognize that most in the design community are not wired to think like a CFO, so this session will not be recitation of algebraic formulae, but how they are practically applied through group interaction and active problem-solving.

In this rapid-fire webinar, researchers from the Center for Health Design will present their version of visual abstracts for 10 articles of the past year, discussing what we’ve learned, and what we still need to know. This program will help participants ride the waves in an ocean of evidence, without drowning in it. But even more, it will provide a shared body of knowledge for the health design community.  

This webinar explores how value is added when Lean process improvement, evidence-based design, and clinician engagement are integrated. Presenters will review the Indiana University Health West Vertical Expansion project as a case study and describe the three primary approaches utilized. 

This webinar will describe the evolution of their community health centers by identifying key transformative moments in care delivery and explaining how those were implemented in the physical clinics, as well as how each new clinic design afforded an opportunity to innovate care practices.

During this webinar, these speakers will present evidence for the positive role of design in reducing violent crime in US urban environments and facilitate a discussion on operationalizing access to nature to reduce violent crime.
