​Roger Ulrich, PhD, EDAC

Recognized as one of the founders of evidence-based healthcare design, Dr. Roger Ulrich’s research has directly influenced the design of healthcare facilities internationally. He is Professor of Architecture at the Center for Healthcare Architecture at Chalmers University in Sweden. Much of his work in recent years has dealt with influences of facility design on infection transmission, including the effects of single- versus multi-bed patient rooms, and how placement of sinks and hand sanitizer dispensers affects hand hygiene and compliance.
