The Center for Health Design

Dear Center Members, Partners, Colleagues & Friends,

Last week in our Currents newsletter I shared with you some significant changes taking place at The Center as we map our future strategy – our new focus on expanding and enhancing engagement between the healthcare design and healthcare delivery communities, and our decision to end our partnership with Emerald Expositions and the Healthcare Design and Environments for Aging conferences. In case you missed it, you can read it here.

This week we are excited and honored to announce a major new collaboration that will enable us to broaden and deepen those connections, and create powerful designer-provider networks of change to achieve next-generation advances in care.

The Center for Health Design has joined with the American Hospital Association (AHA) and the American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE) as a strategic educational collaborator and Supporting Organization for the PDC Summit | The International Summit & Exhibition on Health Facility Planning, Design & Construction.

You can read the full press release announcement here.

Beginning this year at the 2024 PDC Summit March 17 to 20 in San Diego, California, The Center will produce and present a 12-session educational track – Research, Design and Outcomes – and a pre-conference evidence-based design workshop. In 2025 the track will expand to 24 sessions.

This year’s sessions will feature recent work from The Center’s research team; Aging, Behavioral Health, Pediatric and Built Environment Networks; the HERD Journal, AAHID and other familiar and new healthcare design industry leaders. You’ll find these sessions here on the PDC Summit website – click on the Category drop-down menu and select The Center for Health Design Sessions. We’ll also be providing you with additional information this week.

We hope you’ll consider joining us this March – we’d love to see you. As an extra benefit and incentive, The Center’s Affiliate members – at all levels – receive a $200 discount off the registration fee. Watch your email for details and discount code.

We are so appreciative of the confidence and support that ASHE and the AHA have extended to us in this new and promising endeavor. We’re looking forward to providing added value to our loyal healthcare design community and continuing our 30-year journey of shared achievements.

Fondly,

Debra Levin, Hon. FASID, EDAC
