RESOURCES | Infection Control and Prevention

August 2021

Long before the COVID pandemic, healthcare-associated infections (HAI) and other easily transmittable diseases have been a serious concern in all types of care environments. Early in The Center’s history, groundbreaking research demonstrated the impact that the design of the physical environment could have on preventing infections.

To support improved care and medical outcomes, and enhance the experience for patients and their families, today’s design, facility and care professionals must advance their understanding of the environment’s role in infection control and prevention, and incorporate the best and latest research, tools and design solutions.
