This unique workshop is an excellent opportunity to bring EBD concepts into practice, offering an introduction to EBD as well as personal consultation about how to integrate the EBD process into your project(s).
W07: EDAC Exam Prep Session
3:30 - 5:30 p.m.
This comprehensive study session prepares you to take the EDAC exam by offering general information about the exam, the types of questions on the exam, a detailed review of the three study guides, an overview of the five domains included on the Exam Content Outline, a summary of key concepts, and time for Q&A.

E08: Telemedicine: Where We Are and Why the Built Environment Matters
9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
The FGI 2018 Guidelines for Design and Construction now provide several minimum requirements for telemedicine spaces intended to help maintain similar levels of safety, privacy, quality of care, and patient experience as in-person communications. This session will cover the definitions and content in these new guidelines, along with the research and practice-based evidence to support these design approaches.

10 Picks for the Year

How can researchers and design practitioners keep up with the most important design research? In this rapid-fire session, experts from The Center for Health Design will present their version of visual abstracts for the top 10 design research articles of the past year; discuss what we’ve learned and what we still need to know; and, provide a shared body of knowledge for the health design community to apply to their designs.

I09: New Research and New Results: Go Behind the Scenes

Get the scoop on new healthcare design research before it’s published! The Center for Health Design’s New Investigator Award recognizes next-generation investigators, and in this interactive session you’ll have the opportunity to hear first-hand and dig deep into new research that explores how the built environment can improve health-related quality of life for adolescents and young adults with cancer.

A23: The Owners Perspective: Key Insights Impacting the Future of Healthcare Design and Construction

Every year, members of The Center for Health Design’s Built Environment Network (BEN) travel throughout the country to learn about innovative solutions and best practices in the industry. Attend this session to gain their perspective about what they saw and heard on their travels and what they plan to implement within their own organizations.
