Wellbeing in the Workplace



Summary

In the workplace, including healthcare work places, we know that “place” can positively or negatively shape behaviors and experiences. And yet the power of place is still often overlooked. Through more than a decade of research projects, Steelcase has been intently investigating ways to leverage the workplace to achieve organizational goals.

In the past several years, workplace wellbeing has emerged as a business issue of growing and critical importance. This webinar will offer findings of a focused 2013 research project aimed at understanding the growing importance and expanding dimensions of worker wellbeing. Participants will gain new insights about the positive drivers of wellbeing and the power of the workplace for achieving it.  Attendees will hear the latest research findings—the output of a team of Steelcase WorkSpace Futures researchers in Europe, North America and Asia. (1 Continuing Education Unit)

 

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participant will understand the value that the WORKPLACE can play in improving Wellbeing and its role in a comprehensive Wellness program
  2. Participants will be engaged to think of how to analyze and potentially begin to measure the impact that physical space has on Wellness and Wellbeing
  3. Participants will be challenged to look through a different “lens” than traditionally used (i.e. foot-print optimization) when looking at real estate and space.
  4. Attendees will be shown several positive examples of what the workplace "could" look like in order to protect an individual's physical, cognitive, and emotional Wellbeing.
