Clinicians Involved in Healthcare Design: Strategies, Resources, and Research

Course Description

This discussion is a summary of a roundtable discussion at the Healthcare Design Expo + Conference 2018 titled Clinicians Involved in Healthcare Design: Strategies, Resources, and Research. We will share successful strategies used to involve clinicians and the clinical voice in the design process, resources that have been helpful to clinicians in the healthcare planning, design, or construction process, and research studies that are needed to address key clinical issues in healthcare design.

Learning Objectives:

1. Learn how professionals with clinical backgrounds have become involved in healthcare design and the components of their roles.
2. Compare successful strategies utilized to involve clinicians and the clinical voice in the design process.
3. Share resources that have been helpful to clinicians in the healthcare planning, design, or construction process.
4. Brainstorm with peers to identify research studies that are needed to address key clinical issues in healthcare design.
