Evidence for Innovation: Transforming Children's Hospitals Through the Physical Environment

This project applies evidence-based design research, practice, and principles to pediatric hospitals and medical facilities. Working with the National Association of Children’s Hospitals and Related Institutions (NACHRI), the project produced a book-like publication (to include a literature review, business case, and recommendations) and a web-based visual reference guide. Health Environments Research & Design (HERD) Journal

The Health Environments Research and Design Journal (HERD) is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal whose mission is to enhance the knowledge and practice of evidence-based healthcare design by disseminating research findings, discussing issues and trends, and translating research to practice. The vision of HERD is to improve healthcare outcomes as a result of enhancing healthcare environments for those receiving and giving care.
