“Driving Value by Embracing Integrated Project Delivery”
Cha
nge is constant, necessary, natural, and for the majority of us, uncomfortable.  Change occurs all around us including; the cycle of life, seasons, tides, economic indicators, technology, national security, relationships, our moods, e-mail addresses, and in what we do and how we choose to do it.  Each of us seeks to be part of something bigger than ourselves,  that provides meaning, and that adds value. This is true in both our personal and professional endeavors. The delivery of healthcare, design, construction and the methods available to deliver projects are no exceptions.  The presentation will provide an overview of Integrated Project Delivery, (IPD), and the value to owners, designers, constructors, and patients.  The principles will be discussed with the backdrop of the current and future healthcare environment.  The tools, results, and unintended consequences will be also discussed in the context of a recently completed project.

Learning Objectives

This event is FREE to CHD Affiliate Members and CHD volunteers - please RSVP here.

IN THE KNOW

Tarkett Joins the Pebble Project to Explore Flooring Solutions

Tarkett is the latest organization to join The Center for Health Design's Pebble Project.  As a Pebble Partner, Tarkett will research, define and share best practices and applications in healthcare flooring.

The Pebble Project provides partners a place to come with their goals, questions, and challenges; share and learn from the experiences of counterparts around the country and world; and, with expert guidance from The Center for Health Design’s consultants and research staff, measurably improve patient and worker safety, clinical outcomes, enviornmental performance and operating efficiency.  Pebble Partners receive tools that support and validate the design decision-making process, while expert guidance encourages a visionary spirit of collaborative change.

"Collaborative partnerships are a crucial part of the foundation of our healthcare program. This new alliance as a Pebble Partner enables us to have a more thorough understanding of all the processes and considerations in the healthcare built environment," said Cynthia Hubbell, director of healthcare development for Tarkett. "Through this relationship, we have access to the innovations, trends and thought leaders in healthcare, which helps us deliver floor system solutions that meet the patient-centered needs of today's healthcare industry."

Discover more about floor covering research findings, industry standards and best practices in a flooring paper funded by Tandus, now a part of the Tarkett family, found in our Knowledge Repository.
