Upcoming Webinar to Discuss
the Right Care at the Right Time in the Right Place

Thursday, March 27, 2014
11:00 AM PDT/ 2:00 PM EDT
(webinar one hour in length)

Juliet L. Rogers, PHD, MPH, President & CEO, BLUE COTTAGE CONSULTING will present "Planning for the Evolution of Hospital Observation Units" that addresses the mounting pressure to increase efficiency, improve outcomes, and reduce costs and readmissions. The imperative to provide the right care at the right time in the right place is stronger than ever.  While the staggering growth of ED volumes and the increasing complexity of inpatient care create delays and challenges throughput, an answer might be found somewhere in between the ED or outpatient visit and the traditional inpatient admission - The Observation Patient.   Observation isn’t a new approach to solving throughput issues, but with a new CMS “2-Midnight” guideline that redefines inpatient care and with mounting pressure to reduce readmissions, the observation patient is at the center of many strategies aimed at making healthcare more efficient.

Webinar participants can receive one continuing education unit through the American Institute of Architects and The Center for Health Design's EDAC program.  The CEU verification forms will be available for download during the webinar.

“Driving Value by Embracing Integrated Project Delivery”
Cha
nge is constant, necessary, natural, and for the majority of us, uncomfortable.  Change occurs all around us including; the cycle of life, seasons, tides, economic indicators, technology, national security, relationships, our moods, e-mail addresses, and in what we do and how we choose to do it.  Each of us seeks to be part of something bigger than ourselves,  that provides meaning, and that adds value. This is true in both our personal and professional endeavors. The delivery of healthcare, design, construction and the methods available to deliver projects are no exceptions.  The presentation will provide an overview of Integrated Project Delivery, (IPD), and the value to owners, designers, constructors, and patients.  The principles will be discussed with the backdrop of the current and future healthcare environment.  The tools, results, and unintended consequences will be also discussed in the context of a recently completed project.
