Why we are an EDAC Advocate:

Davis Partnership is proud to join the EDAC Advocate Program because it reflects our dedication to Evidence-Based Design (EBD) and supports our desire to contribute new knowledge. Melissa Piatkowski, Senior Design Researcher at Davis Partnership Architects, commented “Evidence-Based Design is a process that provides tangible results for our clients by continually raising standards for safety, patient satisfaction, and cost efficiency. A collaborative relationship with The Center for Health Design fortifies the quality of our work and in return strengthens our clients’ experience and results.”

Innovative Approach to Evidence-Based Design:

Our approach to Evidence-Based Design led us to create an EBD focus group within the firm that specializes in identifying and studying available research, distributing the knowledge internally, and encouraging EDAC certification while adding to the overall body of knowledge by conducting new research.

The EBD focus group is a collaborative of Architects, Planners, Interior Designers, and Landscape Architects led by a professional Researcher and a Senior Healthcare Planner. Team members are certified in EDAC and trained in Human Subjects Protections by the National Institute of Health.  Depending on the needs and scope of a project, we conduct literature reviews, pre and post-occupational evaluations (POEs), side-by-side comparisons, and other evaluations that lead us toward innovation in our practice.

Our top priority at Davis Partnership is to ensure that our clients meet their goals for the best healthcare possible. The relationship between research and design creates a natural bridge from informing to implementing, reading to leading. Our evidence-based and research services allow us to provide our healthcare clients with compelling information and real experience to enhance patient-centered care and operational efficiency.

Our team is inspired by research and we believe the result is inspired design.
