Wanas Jasim, EDAC

Wanas is an accomplished and highly skilled architectural designer who has devoted five years of her career to the healthcare sector at KKT Architects, Inc. Her commitment to the field is exemplified by her pursuit of higher education. Wanas obtained a Master of Science in Architectural Studies degree with a concentration in Health and Wellbeing from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2021 and a Bachelor of Architecture from Oklahoma State University in 2018. She also completed one year of architectural studies at the German Jordanian University in Amman, Jordan in 2013. Her comprehensive understanding of the academic aspects of healthcare architecture has allowed her to approach her work with a holistic perspective.

Wanas’ dedication and hard work have earned her recognition as one of the Oklahoma Magazine 40 Under 40 honorees of 2022. Her outstanding performance and commitment to exceeding expectations in the field of architecture have set her apart from her peers.

The fusion of her industry knowledge and academic expertise has set her apart as a leading figure in the field. Wanas has applied her knowledge and expertise to a range of healthcare areas, including:
• Radiology (various scanners, including MRI's),
• Women's Services (labor, delivery, C-section, triage, antepartum, postpartum, nurseries (Level 1&2), diagnostic/breast center)
• Outpatient physical therapy
• Sterile Pharmacies
• Behavioral health hospital (both adult and pediatric)
• Cardiac (diagnostic, monitoring, and inpatient),
• Endoscopy Services, including medical equipment processing
• Dialysis (inpatient and outpatient)
• Critical Care Units

Wanas assumed the dual roles of project manager and project architectural designer for most of the project types listed above. Her expertise also extends to creating functional narratives and conducting FGI code reviews for these initiatives. She collaborated very closely with medical staff and hospital administrators to develop patient-centric designs that promote healing and well-being.

Currently, she holds the role of planning lead for the development of a mental health hospital project, which will provide a 330-bed facility for both adults and adolescents.
